Wifi / internet sharing

OK guys lets discuss.

I currently have the tp2 which with my cooked energy rom, gives me the option to utilize my phone as the wifi router (through the internet sharing selection under comms manager). this is a FREE function.

in the Evo, the option is "gray'd out" and the sprint hotspot is the only option available.

I contacted Sprint and they said
HTC installs that option but we disabled it for our mobile hot spot feature.

I asked how much more for that feature and of course it is $30/month. :protest::protest::protest:

Do you think the Rom masters will be able to cook a rom with tethering/wifi router so that we can bypass this mobile hotspot option from sprint?
If not I guess I will stick with the TP2 and FREE internet sharing.

Thoughts??](*,)

I think you can also hook up with USB to your laptop as tether, then use your laptop as the hotspot. Haven't tried it with this phone, but have done it with other phones

yep, what he said. will prolly end up getting the paid version once the free trial expires since I do go to secure sites at times like paypal.

I tethered my Evo for the first time last night using PDAnet and it worked flawlessly.
