Not trying to be a smartass, but is your GPS on? There is a toggle on the first homescreen to the left...

Only mentioning that because the EVO gets the fastest GPS locks that I've received on any phone. Lots of the apps use gps and it always finds me in less than 5 seconds.

I have the Clarivue anti-glare protector if it helps you out. I like it so far. Kind of a bitch to put on, but it's static and you just use scotch tape to get the dust off. There's a video on youtube. Just search for clarivue.

Re: First thoughts as a brand new Android and EVO user

GPS is great for me. I've had the touch pro, touch pro 2, hd2, and none of them would lock very fast. EVO's GPS locks in less than 10 seconds, if even 7 seconds. (inside my house)

Re: First thoughts as a brand new Android and EVO user

ok my GPS works normally. what really irks me is that, after shutting down programs like QIK, and sprint nav, not only can i NOT remove them, after a while, they re-appear in Advanced TAsk Killer as an app to kill. to that, wtf?

Re: First thoughts as a brand new Android and EVO user

I've used Sprint Nav twice today already and both times it worked flawlessly and got a satellite lock immediately. Definitely the fastest satellite lock I've ever seen. My HTC Touch would take forever to get a lock, especially with Google Maps. Haven't tried Google Maps on the Evo yet though...
