Group Texting on Evo 4g
 

How is it for group texting? I manage a dozen teams of people, about 50-60 each and growing, I regularly need to send out messages to all members of multiple groups. Last month I used over 22000 Text Messages!

Currently I'm using a TP2 and a small group contact app to select a group or 2 and send a text to the entire group. Tends to take a few moments per group and while it's sending, I can't receive texts until the batch is done. Anyone have any experience with group texting? Anyone willing to run a few tests for me and let me know the results?

Also, how easy is it to manage groups on the 4g/google? I currently use Outlook to manage my groups. I've played with the android port on the tp2 for a limited time (too busy actually using my phone to play with it). I was able to export my contacts from outlook to google and the groups did show up in the 2.1 w/sense port I played with, but how is it working with them on a daily basis in google?

1. Go to messages application
2. Click on "Compose"
3. Click on the People icon
4. Select as many people as you would like
5. Type message
6. Send

I would hope there would be a way to text those groups made on gmail/google contacts.

There are Groups available, and I think you can create more, this way. Click the phone icon from the home screen (middle bottom). Then click the button to the right of the green call button. Then click the 2nd tab from the left, on the bottom. There you go........

Anyone feel like making a group of 50-100 people and sending out and I love my Evo 4g text and tell me how it goes?

Sending to a group is fine. But I would like to have them all reply to the same text box (if that makes sense) please help.

there's an application for GroupMe, you can manage it via internet and all the text messages go to the same text box. You can form different groups and name them differently.

question. are there any android applications that can support mass texting 1000-7000 contacts at at a time?

I currently have a TP2 and I use a windows Mobil application that lets me do this. Just wondering if theres are similar applications for android?
