Sorry to anyone who actually checked out my Qik broadcasts... i got too excited when it was actually time to get the Evo ;)... anyway my experience was pretty painless... for those that did check out my Qik page, the last thing you would have seen was me sitting in a nearly empty BB parking lot... Turns out they were already letting pre-order folks come in even though they weren't open... saw about 4 ppl go in and come out about 30 minutes later each time, usually with a silly grin. After about an hour and a half, I got tired of waiting on what was only a maybe (after hearing rumors that most of the best buys would be giving their extras to 2nd round pre-order folks, I wasn't even sure I'd get one from BB but I wanted the 500 points and free bluetooth headset :P) I called the RS just down the road from the BB to see if they had opened early (this was the smallest RS in the district) They said they were already opened (this was around 8:15am) and they had 5 un-spoken for EVOs left. I asked them to hold one, they said sure, and in 5 minutes I was in the door. There were only 2 people working (the manager and one other guy) and there were already 2 people picking up pre-orders... so I waited patiently (this was about when the system started slowing down)... once one of them was finished, they started to help me out. One of the registers pretty much just froze at the beginning of the process, but we moved to another register and were able to finish up. By 9:30ish, I was out the door with my shiny new EVO... and a $3 case that I had to buy to satisfy RS's "attach rate" which won't fit any phone known to mankind... lol... it's ok, though cuz when they get in all the Evo accessories this coming Friday, I'll be able to take that back and swap it out for an actual Evo case or something else...

So thy getting them in friday?? Any idea what theyll be getting.

I still got that damn $50 gift card and they didnt have anything but a car charger when i went, hmph

I got mine on friday at radio shack but it took 2hrs to activate it (system was down). then after that they accidently activated it as a phone swap instead of an upgrade (rang up full retail), it took an extra hour to fix that.
The evo was worth it though :)

I ordered mine around midnight that Friday from samsclub.com and got it sat. morning..and i only paid $200..so it was a win/win situation!

When I got to work with mine, during my first meeting we passed it around the conference room for everyone to try it. People were putting it up against their iphones, too funny. Then one guy asked if he could take it around the office to show a couple of people. Later, some guy I never met before showed up at my office door to try it out. I almost cracked up right there, hilarious.

This is sooo funny, if you failed to get an EVO turn on your tube you may be able to get one via the Home Shopping Network!
