$200+ seems steep when I can buy another battery and dual charging dock for under $100 for both.

Re: Never run out of power again on the EVO!

All I need to do is order the extended battery door from Seidio, and I can use the 3500 mAh battery I use on my Hero. But that looks like a great product, if you are out in the field, nowhere near an outlet.

I have this one. Works pretty good with the pre. Is compatible with the Evo. Way cheaper than what the OP posted.

Just right off the hip... It is light weight, comes with a decent amount of connectors, charges in 4 hours on the wall, think it said 22 hours in the sun, holds a charge for a year without use before it starts discharging the charge.

Needs direct sunlight to charge with the solar unit... Haven't officially tried this though.

I haven't used it much since I just got it. I charged in on the wall for 4 hours and tried charging my Palm Pre at the house. With the phone on it took a little while to charge the phone and the charger drained quickly. I think this is because reception at my house sucks on the pre and it was constantly looking for signal though.

I took it to Six Flags hooked to my backpack after I wall charged it and used it at the park on the pre. It seemed to charge much faster there and with less drawl on the solar charger. My reception was a lot better there so the pre wasn't constantly looking for signal. So, I would think the best/fastest way to charge a phone would be to turn it off and let it charge up real quick. Will have to field test this some more.

You can click the power button and it will tell you how much charge it has based on the number of blinks. 1 blink for every 20% of battery charge. I like that.

I will do more testing and give a better opinion of it in the coming week, just need to play around with it more.

I am def interested in a self charging case. That would kick butt! Any more pictures of it? Or potential pricing that you know of?
