Sense Mods for EVO?

Several questions but one basic theme : just curious...I mean I know it's not even out yet, but one of the first things I'm looking forward to doing personalization-wise on this device will be to get a different homescreen clock and I thought it would be good to find out ahead of time a few things. I'm used to custom ROMs on my Winmo TP and was wondering if such stuff ( mods to Sense, not custom ROMs, I presume those will take a while) might already exist out there given the existence of other HTC Sense devices with the same screen resolution already having been around for a while, though looking through the PPCG Incredible forum didn't yield anything off hand to me. Perhaps this level of modification require rooting? New to Android here so I'm asking. I've played around with XAndroid on my TP and I know it has several different choices for clocks so I could see this having the same, hoping for something more glassy! Thoughts?

Short answer: Yes, it's possible.

I don't know if it's going to require the phone to be rooted or not though.

I am not certain to call it mods...but being new to Android as well...I am starting to gather up information. This might be a helpful start regarding changing the "look". Doesn't appear you have to be rooted to use these. Until I get me Evo that's all I know (not much) at this point.

I'm pretty sure once it hits public release we'll start to see new customizations as far as ROMs and Sense. You have to understand that the resolution of the screen matters and there are only a few EVOs out at this moment, so there is little availability to test (and build) any kind of customizations. I think we'll get some new stuff for the EVO about 1 or 2 weeks after launch.

im using beautiful widgets on the android port 4 tp2, def. a nice app

also i found another great app thats a "home plug-in" sort of that takes care of file manager, task manager an sd apk installer. its androidmate, but i think you need to be rooted  so i guess until then but should check it out either way

"widget pack" is another nice 1 i found and "more icon widgets" is also good both add more apps to be displayed on your home screen taking up less the space
