Why is android animation not up to WinMo caliber?
Been watching lots of video recently of the EVO and other android devices. The TP, the TP2 and the HD2 all have smoother animations then the android devices. I guess this is some kind of limitation in the OS. It's not processor specific. The android devices even with snapdragon still do not seem as smooth as lesser processor phones running WinMo. I sure hope this is something that can be addressed.

huh?
My TP2's animation is on par with a Atari 2600 trying to run Windows 7 |

I disagree actually. Certain things in touch flo just seem to look better on WinMo devices. Was comparing my son's hero with my TP. Like the email flicks an flipping through pictures in touch flo. The WinMo animations in general seem more refined and smoother. Saw the same basic thing on videos with the better processor android devices.

Myself.. I end up turning off all the animations I can. Even with Win7 on my 4Ghz i7. I just want screen pops as fast as I can.

I just installed the "official" (not released yet) 2.1 Android update on my gf's Hero today and her animations are still smoother than my TP2. I'm even using the Optimized Animation on Cookie's Home Tab. It's smooth, but the Hero is smoother. I'm not sure where you're seeing choppiness...
