Re: official evo 199 at sprint june 4 realese date!!!

I don't see anywhere claiming that you can opt out of the $10. Everything I have read says it is mandatory, no matter what.

Any of you guys with connects at Sprint, can you find out the following and post the answer please...

#1: On a family plan with 4 Evo phones, would it cost $40 extra per month that I am paying right now or only $10 extra? Is the $10 per plan or per phone?

#2: Same as #1 except the hotspot fee. Is it per plan, or per Evo? Would a family plan with 4 Evo phnes cost $120 per month to use hotspot?

#3: If I am not even in a 4G area, do I still have to pay that ridiculous extra fee?

#4: How does this affect the EPRP plans? What do those plans have to pay to get 4 Evo phones on a family plan?

I just sent the following to Sprint CS but I doubt it will get far:

I have been eagerly awaiting the HTC EVO 4G since the day of its announcement, but recent pricing information has caused me to reconsider my purchasing decision.

I find it appalling that Sprint wishes to charge me an additional $10/month just for the privilege of owning their newest phone. I guess paying $70/month for the Everything Data plan just isn't enough. Instead, I'll have to pay Sprint $80/month (that's $240 over the two-year contract) for THE SAME EXACT PLAN that others are paying $70/month for. Since my area probably won't see 4G service until next year at least, this means I'm paying $10 extra for absolutely nothing. Way to deceive your customers: that $200 price tag is more like a $540 price tag, when you consider the additional $10/month.

I am not alone. Note this topic - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=120920 - on PPCGeeks, a smartphone enthusiast forum consisting of hundreds of EVO fans awaiting this phone's release. Excitement has turned to anger and annoyance in a matter of minutes after the additional charges were announced. At this rate, I might as well switch to Verizon: they're no longer much more expensive, and they have better coverage anyway.
Sprint executives must be stupid. They just turned what could have been an iPhone-killer into a niche device that will only sell to geeks who live in 4G areas. Nice going, Sprint.
I swear this made me laugh LOL...Yet true haha

Re: official evo 199 at sprint june 4 realese date!!!

damn, sprint this is bad business. Yes i do supposedly live in a 4g area very soon, but to charge for 4g and someone can't even use it in their area, very very bad idea imo.
