Is video chat even possible?
Since the announcement of the evo 4g I have been watching videos about it and reading about every single day! Sometimes people mention the possibility of using the front facing camera to do video chat with people...
But I was under the impression that cdma carriers like sprint do not have the ability to do voice and data at the same time. Will this be possible because its on wimax? Or not possible at all? |
Re: Is video chat even possible?
it has the ability, pretty much the only reason to include the front facing camera.
on 4G (Wimax) is just Wifi on steroids, totally separate from the CDMA/voice side, and perhaps later down the road once fully implemented calls will be able to arrive on the phone via VOIP as well. maybe the time for not needing any "phone minutes" will be here one day, just needing data on the phone and nothing else. |
Re: Is video chat even possible?
For now, the front facing camera will be used for things like skype, and other internet chat sites that support video. It will be a while before we see this in use for phone calls. Would be nice if two people with evos could video call each other, though.
