I think if the Evo had an AMOLED screen, Dan Hesse would have mentioned that in the demo in Vegas. And, journalists would have gone nuts over it. They'd probably just type a 50 page column, that says "OMG!!!! The EVO has a 4.3" AMOLED screen!!!" But maybe Sprint has an ace up their sleeve, and that's why they only mentioned screen size....But I would be surprised if the screen is any different than the one that is in the HD2.

So what kind of screen does the HD2 have, capacitive or resistive? Only touch phone's I've had so far was 7 iPhones (which is what eventually drove me into the arms of sprint lol), and 2 Diamonds. I have to say though, the iPhone did have a much better "feel" to it's screen over my Diamond (which I'm still using, though I feel like it's starting to show it's age)...

And also, is the screen going to be covered in plastic or glass? Hopefully glass FTW!

HD2 has a capacitive screen. It's made of glass. The only capacitive screens I can think of on cell phones that are made of plastic are the Palm Pre and Pixi. All others are glass.

The glass is so much better. The pre scratches so bad.

Well that's good to know. Yeah, I dunno what my diamond has, but it scratches so much easier than my iphone did. That, and the feel of my finger sliding over the screen felt much better on the iphone than my diamond does... Though I'm sure most of the scratches on my diamond are from using the stylus.

Hopefully the EVO will woo me more than my diamond currently does!

Unless I'm mistaken, all resistive screens (at least the ones on the Mogul, Diamond, TP, TP2) have a glass bottom layer, and has a plastic outer layer, with a gap between the glass and the plastic. The plastic outer layer is the main reason resistive screens scratch easier, and does not have the same visibility in sunlight.

Yeah, the digitizer is a serperate piece on resistive screens. On capacitive, its part of the glass.

I dont see what everyones obsession is with led. other than the battery life I see no advantage. I like my white to look white and not blue. Thats just my opinion though
