Verizon?

When the EVO is released do you think that we will be able to get it to run on verizon?

It might be possible(with a lot of hassle) but whats the point if no wimax..might as well just get the nexus one.

Re: Verizon?

The nexus one doesn't have as large of a screen or a front facing camera though.

yes but the screen is AMOLED and what use is the front camera if you can;t have voice and data? The Touch Pro2 had a front and back camera but they took it out on CDMA model because of that.

There is VOIP through 3g but not as reliable.

also isn't the HTC incredible the verizon variant of the evo?

You have a good point! I totally forgot about the lack of simultaneous voice and data with Verizon. If I had not just recently switched to Verizon I would switch.

HTC incredible is a worse version

EVO
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&i...htc_supersonic

Incredible
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&i...htc_incredible

Incredible still has a 3.7" screen and 512mb rom...the specs also show underclocked cpu but might be a typo idk

pdadb is pure speculation until specs are either leaked or confirmed by the manufacturer.

Yes they are speculations but there have already been photos of incredible and specs of supersonic matched what evo had..many of these are obtained to leaks and etc including people posting pictures...its not 100% accurate but usually 80-90% at least

Re: Verizon?

It may be possible if you can get the ESN ported over to Verizon. It's pretty tough to do though, but it has been done with other phones.

Quote:

MSL as far as i know is Mobile Subscriber Lock, entering this allows the phone to be programed with the carriers network info, they gave it to you so you could re enter the original SPCS network info, thus reprogramming it. Using that number one could enter in the verizon network information. if you pretend you were told by SPCS rep that you needed to call customer care, and that you where told that you needed to have the whole thing reprogrammed, then they will give the code, write the code down and keep it till you find a verizon dealer willing to activate it.

Neglected for a min?....I think we were neglected for a few years.

Here you go, Redd214 posted the HTC Incredible manual leaked (which he attached) and specs over at the Incredible forums - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=117417

the incredible is more akin to the htc desire than it is to the evo. the incredible is essentially a cdma variant of the desire

That's the issue i'm dealing with. If it is to big, looks like I'll be getting the Nexus One when it hits Sprint.

Verizon is known for gimping the crap out of their phones, which is one of the reasons why I left them years ago.

kinda like sprint did with the pre and pixi lol

Re: Verizon?

except they didnt gimp them. they improved the ones for verizon and at&t. thats why they were released 6 months later

Re: Verizon?

I think all smartphones are gimped on Verizon and ATT no matter what! No 4g and you have to pay $30/month for 3g? Haha! That's gimped!

If you're on Verizon, at least you'll get the gimped Incredible or the "awesome" Iphone. Haha. That's something to look forward to.

We sprint customers don't usually get something to brag about, so let us have our 15 minutes of glory.

brandogg 04-13-2010 11:05 PM

Re: Verizon?

The Incredible isn't gimped, the specs that had been floating around were incorrect. It has 8GB storage, 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU (*not* clocked down to 768Mhz), multi-touch, 512MB RAM, Android 2.1 w/ HTC Sense, etc...

sebo 04-13-2010 11:12 PM

Re: Verizon?

Vzw will get the Evo after sprint is done with it, and by that time sprint will have the "Evo2".

he he he..

My Evo 4g can run :spin: faster than your Incredibull 3g. That's gimped.

Can you use an SD card in the Incredible? That's interesting that they threw 8gb in there.

Re: Verizon?

I would honestly prefer most of the Evo specs to be paired with the Incredibles 3.7" AMOLED screen. I think that would be a much better combo, and also a size that doesn't border on gaudy.

As there is no such thing, I will be picking up the Evo the day it comes out :p
