A few ways:

The file is called bootanimation.zip and needs to be copied to the root of your SD card. IF you have Android SDK then you can use the following commands from a DOS prompt after connecting your device via USB and making sure that USB Debugging is activated:

adb push path of file/<name of file> /sdcard

Of course, this implies that you know how ADB works, that you have Android SDK installed and that either you're running the ADB command from the /SDK/Tools directory or that you're running it from some directory because you've added Android/SDK to your DOS path.

Conversely, if you download Android Bootanimationspro from the marketplace all this would be unnecessary.

Well, so long as you looked. Geez, we were all new at this once. I've only been on Android for a little over a month but at least I took the time to learn and read. I feel like there are a lot folks coming in who are expecting everything to be fed to them with a spoon. I'm going to ask what everyone else asks, did you do a search for boot animation on the marketplace? Even searching for those terms comes up with a bunch of different changers including Boot Animation Changer pro (I forgot the word Changer, in the original post, but still didn't prevent me from finding this application in my list of search results):

Self-education is the best way to go. Everyone here is going to fall all over themselves to help but not if we realize that none of that is being done by the people asking the questions. We're all learning too, but at least we're willing to search first.

I was being a little too literal in my search parameters. I found it. Although on the Market it's called Boot Animation but after you download it it's called Boot Animation Changer LITE.

I have actually heard of Google.

Actually not the application I was suggesting, but that may work as well.

Wasn't trying to be harsh, but we all have to work together, apologies if it came across as a bit too much.

Ask questions, we've all been there, just search first and if someone doesn't answer you exactly as you need, please, search and read. This is new to a LOT of us. A LOT OF US.

I read most of the thread over at xda that was mentioned earlier. I'm still not sure I understand how that thread applied to this one.

Isn't the above only going to move the animation to the root of the card?

put your zip file mp3 into root of folder
plug in your phone
open pushboot.bat if you have HALFROOT
open pushboot2.bat if you have FULLROOT
follow the prompts
make sure that when the phone goes into recovery that you wait till it connects to your pc before continuing

the file has all the cool boots ive found so far + push boot

Thanks, for some reason i just get a black screen with this (on 2 phones) but if I boot to another one, it works great.
Anyone have and ideas?
