[Case Mod] Genius, Stupidity or Spare Parts
3 Attachment(s)
So When i first got my EVO in august i bought a Black TPU Case from ebay. I have since moved on to new smoked TPU case so i had the extra one. I was checkin out the Evo Wallet and i liked the idea but thought it was to much to hold up a wallet to my head (the times i would not have a bluetooth.
Kick in my R&D mindset... I Modified the old case before cause the dock hole at the bottom was to small for some of my extra usb/charger cables. So i decided to Mod the old case to see if i could come up with a slimmer way to combine my wallet and phone case. 1. Cut/extended the kickstand hole to accommodate my IDs. 2. Inserted IDs and the pics below show the result. Fits 2 IDs/Cards. I had to remove stock battery door. IDs stick out about a half inch but are snug. Also i lost use of the kickstand which i didnt use to much anyway. But for a 99 cent case i wasn't using i guess it worked out ok. *** next idea*** I saw a phone case that had a Bottle Opener on the back!!!! I think if i use an extended battery door i can combine the bottle opener and wallet idea. I just used a utility knife to cut the opening, but if i can find a cheap extended battery door i'll have to finish it right using a Dremel or something. |

I had a similar epiphany about my phone case. I thought about two things, related to my EVO case -- why does it have any free space at all, when it all could be battery? How about a lithium battery/case shaped like a Dynatac 8000 that lasted for 2-3 years between charges?
