The down-side of that is constantly popping your battery cover on an off. Mine is getting loose, just froom rooting.

I took advantage of this deal as well. I've noticed that these batteries last longer than the stock one (to my amazement). It was an awesome purchase IMO.

Okay how about you post the seller or something so we can know the exact seller and product you won the auction from so we don't have to keep guessing?

This battery is a 1600, while the stock is 1500 (i think) would this be an issue at all? It fits in the phone normaly?

Re: no more battery problems

I've been using this since I got the evo. I carry a spare battery in my wallet and leave one at home charging. It's a very easy way to carry an extra battery w/o noticing it's with you. I haven't had a problem with the back of my phone coming loose. Even if it did I have sprint protection plan and a warranty that would cover that issue.

Hehe, a mobile ebay link... He ya go.

2x 1600mAh battery + dock charger for Sprint HTC Evo 4G - eBay Mobile (item 170548090855 10/3/2010 7:12:17 PM)

Becareful with 3rd party batteries, they may not be up to specifications as far as voltage, amps, heat and may not even have IC chip circuit protection causing your phone to over heat or catch fire. YMMV :violent2:

Re: no more battery problems

Be careful with those eBay battery chargers, whether they're for phones or cameras. Some of them are meant to be installed in only way in an A/C wall outlet but they come with the same size prongs allowing to mount it to the wall outlet backwards. The circuitry in many of the cheap chargers are simple and not designed for reverse current. The reason why they are so cheap on eBay is because there were shortcuts taken to reduce cost.

I purchased a battery/charger combo off eBay for my digital camera. I mounted it upside down due to the fact the other outlet was in use. I left the room for 10 minutes and noticed it was filling with smoke and could hear something shorting out in the charger. I contacted the seller and they sent me another charger/battery. I mounted it correctly on the outlet and the battery charged fine. As soon as I mounted it backwards, the charger started smoking and short circuiting again. Both times the batteries were damaged.

Most higher quality electrical devices are designed with basic circuit protection. Spend the extra few bucks and buy a charger from a well known company/manufacturer.

Re: no more battery problems

Thanks for all the warnings and all but so far so really really good. The two batteries that I got plus the charger have been great. The new batteries last longer than the one shipped with the EVO. So win there. I dont have any problem with smells of smoke or weird sounds coming from the charger at all, in fact it doesnt even get warm when charging. I have it plugged into my surge protector and all seems well so far. I have two extra batteries that are holding a full charge while being off the charger for a whole day, so from here on out I will always have a charged battery on stand by.

Re: no more battery problems

Hey I just got mine delivered today...

How do you know when the battery is done charging?

When I put the battery in to charge it's like a pinkish/purplish color, but when I take the battery out and leave the charger plugged into the wall it turns blue... so when it's done charging should it be green or something.

Also, how long does it take to charge the battery because I've had it charging for over 4 hours now... I'll just leave there overnight and when I wake up in the morning to go to work I'll just take it off from the charger even if it's not lit up green or whatever color it's supposed to indicate when it's done... because if it's not fully charged overnight then I don't know what to say... green or not!

The Seidio 3500ma battery I have still wants to be fed a couple of times during the day; however, feeding is at my convenience and not a necessity, as the device charges very quickly with this battery.

Greetings and Happy Holidays to all.

Just thought I'd post another eBay link. This one is for 2x 2000 mAh batteries and a wall charger for $16.99. It's approximately 70% more money for 33% increased capacity. It may not sound very good when I say it like that, but think of the hundreds of extra hours you might get over the next year from the small $7 investment. Judging from the pictures they look like they would fit in the device with the stock battery cover. I ordered this today and will let everyone know how it works out.

Sorry, but you cant just assume from a picture!, if you look in the "Questions and Answers" section the seller states that the OEM cover will not fit with this basttery. :(

I have a question regarding these batterys do you have to use the supplied charger  or can you charge in your phone the standard way

I get a day easy on my Seidio. My biggest load is listening (streaming) radio. I must admit, when trons are available, I grab some but I don't panic like a fish out of water like I did with the stock battery.
I also use the SBC-v7 kernel.
