okay, so i bought a 32 gig memory card from china
 

I was able to copy all my files to the memory card except music. Every time i try to transfer music from my pc to mc it says memory card damage and format.

My Evo will not read the MC unless i format, so im stuck!
Any tips?

This. The card firmware has been modified to show the OS as a larger card than it should be. You wont be able to use the card and even if you do, only the first 2 GB are usable.

Are you Serious? its a sandisk,is there anyway to read it with a software to see the real size.

Yep, unless you bought it from sandisk or someone reputably like newegg or amazon you got a fast one pulled on you.

Now thats not exactly fair to say, most of the things we use and take for granted on an average day basis comes from that part of the world.

I'll bet that if you look real close at the card, the second 's' in Sandisk is a 'c' because that's what they just did to you...

This particular type of scam regarding MicroSD has been talk about for years, how a 2GB MicroSD is programmed to show larger capacity (ex..4GB, 8GB 16GB and 32GB) , and it was just a 2GB memory.

Ok ...sorry to hijack the thread (sorry you got sticked too)...but who has the best price on the real 32g cards? I think they are all class 2 now too...will that be good enough for movies, etc on our EVOs?

This is very true, and their products are great, just so long as no one licks the kiddy toys. But I was actually referring more so to the fact that a lot of the electronic stuff you can buy on Ebay that comes from a seller in China isn't always legit. Point is, wouldn't you think twice about buying electronics on Ebay from a seller from China? This poor guy is a perfect example.

Where did u buy it from? Ive used dhgate(china wholesale site) in the past and havent had any issues you may just have to be very cautious but then again i also have never purchased anything that im not ok with losing my $$ on and $50 is my limit to not cry over everything ive purchase has been $20 give or take

ebay, anyway i was refunded i think. at least that's what ebay and paypal says, but it does not reflect my bank account yet.

Sometimes I feel like when I say this a million times people still don't listen...sigh...we should have a sticky somewhere with a guide for buying SD cards...it seems like every other day someone buying a fake card or asking about class speeds when all this could be avoided with basic information....

P.S I'm not blaming you in particular, I'm jsut saying this info should be where everyone sees it..

You should NEVER buy memory, batteries, or anything else that can easily get duplicated like a fake iphone on EBAY especially users that have high volume sells. Those items get made over in those countries so they will have all the templates. Its just like getting fake Jordan's made.
