Seidio Active Case v Otterbox
 

Hey everyone just want some thoughts, opinions, etc...
I am aware that otterbox has 3 different types of cases and the commuter is the most comparable. Either way, is it work waiting for the otterbox regardless of the type of case or it is best to get the seidio active case.

Currently i have the best buy platinum case without the clip and full body clear skin.

Here a comparison of the 2 cases. I dont like the gaping hole that ive seen on any of the cases is why i think im going to stick with and wait for the commuter. This is what the back of the HD2 looks like which the EVO hopefully will retain the same. If they do not and its a large gaping hole then i will just pick up a cheapy on ebay.

Based on build quality, material and look from both the Pics... Otterbox looks to be a better-built product...

I got the BB Platinum (Seidio) for the time being so there is no rush for Otterbox to do their thing...

+1 Otterbox. I just took my body glove off for the 1st time today to check for light leaks in the screen and snap! I was being careful too knowing it was fragile.

With that in mind, hopefully Otterbox wouldn't do the same thing with the defender. Man, I will be pissed if I am waiting for this awesome case only to find out "a key feature" is not usable. For the same price, I wonder how the rugged seido compares. I mean, we all know otterbox is proven...

I like the fact that it covers the Kickstand, I just seeing that get accidentally ripped off with me.

you dont like the best buy platinum case? its pretty durable and not a lot to go thru to get it off but everybody knows what they want.

Well it covers it nicely and protects the camera well. But I am paranoid because my wife dropped my moment and shattered the screen...so I will not take that chance with this bad boy!

from the looks of it the otterbox is going to take a while to be out.. the hd2 case is still not out and that phone came out 1st.

dont know if i can wait that long

Well, I just ordered the Active Limited Edition from Amazon. I'm really like the rubber plastic combo as I think this is probably going to be one of the most protective cases when it comes to impact! The rubber should act as a good shock absorber with the plastic adding some strength, structure and addition impact resistance at key points such as the corners and sides.

Another nice touch is that the kickstand can still be used as the Good Lord intended and I like the fact the the rubber internal casing seals the volume and power buttons adding extra protection and preventing any dust and pocket debris from intering the interior of the phone.

All in all, I'm pretty hyped about this case. What I find odd is that it is only available from Amazon and can't be bought from seidio directly.

I personally find the Innocase Rugged a bit much since it consist 3 components. The Innocase II wrapped in the Silicone case and then topped off with the skeleton. With all this I'm back to a PPC-6700 brick!!!

Once I get my Active case in, I'll give you guys a review. I have read some complains about the power button not being as responsive with the case on but I'm sure there are bound to be some dislikes. Full report to come!!!

im still waiting on my ipad case they said they were going to release 2 months ago

and as far as teh seido it looks like it is 3 cases in one. the innocase than the rubber housing and the belt clip

Actually the belt clip is the 4th peice... The 3rd would be the plastic skeleton that clicks over the rubber case...

yes but you dont put on the innocase if your using the rubber one. the $69 kit includes 2 holsters one for the innocase and one for the rubber.. you choose what you want to use...

you dont mount the rubber one over the innocase.

well otterbox is notorious for saying they will release something and when they do no one owns it no more and they discontinue it

i can CONFIRM - this is a royal PITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: im looking to put a piece if something inside the cover so that i dont have to push or "find" the button

I saw on a video review that the area where the power button sits is recessed so it doesn't make full contact with the button... I would think if you fill that area in, it would make a difference.

I'm sure once I have the case in-hand I'll find a simple little mod to make this better... I'll be sure to share when the time comes...

i took the active case off .. and put 2 layers of electrical tape in that area - works great now... same goes for the VOLUME UP button on the side ..
