Good grief, it can't possibly be worth that bulk for the extra battery life that takes the phone from a sexy beast to.... well just a beast

Re: 3500 mAh!

I bought the big batt for my mogul from seidio, it was worth it, would gets DAYS of heavy use out of it.

But the problem is cost. I hate having to spend hundreds extra per phone upgrade. But it is nice when you have it. And trust me, sometimes its surprising how much better it is WITH the battery. For instance, holding the mogul with the extended battery and rubberized back was much better than the stock slick plastic cover!

Mobilecityonline will be selling it cheaper....

Re: 3500 mAh!

When my Mogul battery started to crap out, I bought a replacement from Batteries Plus. My Mogul would be nearly dead after one long call. The new one would last for days.

I am hoping for such a replacement for EVO. It was a Rayovac Li-Poly.

for traveling, I honestly wouldn't mind lugging the extra weight

Nah, thats cool if you carry a bag around with you, but I think the 3500mah is a good option if you're going out and know you won't be near a charger anytime soon. I hate going to the club or something late at night and my phone dies. but for everyday use, i get enough out of my 1500mah.

Are they going to be offering and extended battery hard case too?

No way is that thing touching my Evo.... Looks like hunchback version of the phone. Terrible!

I understand what you are saying, and I guess it becomes a matter of priorities and funds. For about $15, you can pick up an OEM 1500mA spare battery, which would be easy to carry around in a back pocket, while still maintaining the pocketabilty of the EVO. If you are traveling, using the item I suggested will not be any more of a burden than doubling the waist line of the EVO with an extended battery.

Just nice to have options.

No. They are different form factors.

I have that 3500 mAh battery for the Hero. It was fantastic. I would go 2 days, with normal usage between charges. With the stock battery, I was on a wing and a prayer to make it to the end of the day. I just need to see if they will sell the battery door only. Maybe I wait a few weeks after release, and say I dropped my phone, and the door broke.

Re: 3500 mAh!

I don't think it looks too bad, considering how much more charge you get. It might be ok with a silicon case and some double sided tape to make the case stay tight to the camera hole. I might consider this.

What ever happened to the 2150 mah HTC branded TP2 battery. Just make us a cover for that, and I will buy that sucker in a second!!!

Doesn't look like the cover fits that well (seam at the top)? Production model could be different. But talk about a brick.

Looks like seidio is making a case for the extended battery.

Re: 3500 mAh!

the biggest problem I actually have with extended life batteries that require different backs are the poor workmanship of the doors. How hard is it to have an exact and precise fit. I've used many with my different Treo phones and this was my only gripe.
