Siedio Vs Body Glove! (Just my opinion)

Well, I initially purchased the Best Buy Siedio case. Today I decided to buy the Body Glove case offered by Sprint so I had options. What's pretty cool here is that the belt clip from the Siedio works for the Body Glove.

Here's my 2 cents on the cases...

The Body Glove case seems cheaply made with a fragile looking and feeling front bezel that holds everything together. I don't trust the front part, especially by the volume buttons where there is less meat then the rest. I honestly don't think this is a durable case and feel that one drop to the floor and it's all over. It looks nice and feels good in your hand with the textured back but again it feels cheaply made.

The Siedio case is solid. No thin peices of plastic here. I can honestly say there is not one vulnerable area on the case that concerns me, as does the Body Gloves front peice. There isn't much grip on the Seidio but I like the smooth rubbery coating they use, I feel it adds to the durability of this case.

All in all, they are both nice cases but I think the Seidio is going to be my everyday'er and I'll have the Body Glove to change it up if I'm feeling frisky!!!

Take it for what it's worth!!! My vote goes to Siedio!!!

Body Glove is slightly thinner... I think the coating that Siedio puts on gives it that little extra!

I already ordered a Seidio case, just waiting on the merchant to get them in to ship it. I hope it's soon. That case looks like the shizz, and your review just reinforced my decision to go with Seidio. My phone looks naked without it. 8-[

Both cases protect the lens.

I agree w/ the comment about the area by the volume buttons feeling weak. I keep expecting to accidentally apply too much pressure one day and snap that section off.

I bought the Bodyglove because I had the phone in my hands and didn't want to risk dropping it the 1st weekend. I really like the case, especially the appearance, but it doesn't feel very strong.

I think you're right about 1 drop and it's gone.

Thanks for the review.

I have used Seidio cases on my PPC-6700, Touch, Touch Pro and now Evo... I have even donated cases out after I have gotten rid of the device... I would swear by the Seidio cases as they have been excellent in fit, finish and feel....

2 things to keep in mind... first, the rubbery finish on the seidio cases do not play well with isopropyl alcohol... clean only with soap and water unless you really want a smooth case... second... and this holds true with almost all plastic cases.... if you are one of the type that pack extra batteries or sdcard and constantly swap either... expect the clasps that hold the case together to wear out... yet another plus to the seidio was that even after I wore out the clasps it still fit and protected the device from the initial (long) drop but popped off for the secondary slide..

If you push down in the middle part of one of the pieces where they meet on the back of the phone, they come apart with ease. Just in case you got to clean the phone, change the battery or microSD card.

Nahhh, it's easy... Apply slight pressure on the lower peice just below the split line in the middle. While doing this, lift the top peice from the sides of the phone at the split line and slide the top half up.

Take note of the clasp that locks it and you'll see what I mean.

I bought a case from Best Buy but I don't know the brand and I can't find the packaging. It looks like the Seido one from the first post but mine has two pieces and clasps around the entire phone. The OP looks like the 2 pieces come together in the middle of the center of the back. (redundant?)

Here's a couple pictures I took of mine. Never mind the ugly mug of the dude in the camera :)

I can say it's probably the best case I've ever had for a phone. The phone is tight and there is absolutely zero play. I highly suggest it to every Evo owner. There is a layer of felt on the inside to help protect your phone from the inevitable dust that will find it's way inside the case.

Re: Siedio Vs Body Glove! (Just my opinion)

I ordered teh Seidio case but I do not think I will keep it. I loved it the first day, but after about 48 hours on my phone, it seems to have a loose fit to it. I am not sure if the felt lining has been somewhat impacted which gives the phone more wiggle room or what, but bottom line, it now feels loose and I don't like it. I am thinking about trying the Seidio Active case that just came out or perhaps trying an otter box when they are released. Until then it sounds like I should hit up BB to see what they have available.

That case is made in china, the Seidio case is made in Tx and has the holster with it. That is the major diff.

Not sure if you guys saw this but if the seidio case isn't as snug as you'd like it to be I posted a nice easy fix here:

Mine felt a bit loose where there was a slight wobble. Was driving me crazy!!!

the body glove does feel cheap in hand especially on the front by the volume rocker, but i like the way it looked better than the siedo case. it doesnt make the phone feel any thicker or heavier, and the rubber grip ont he back is a nice touch. plus its only 15$ so if it breaks just get another!:headbang:

Yeah, I ordered the bodyglove too. I just like that it looks almost flush with the screen whereas the seidios look bulkier. Would love to see more pics from somebody that has the bodyglove in hand. My Evo and case gets here Tuesday. I only plan to have the BG until the Otterbox commuter comes out. It looks sick on the HD2!

Would you mind making a vid or showing some more pics of both cases D\/8? The screen-side especially. Thanks!

Did you check out the links to the reviews I provided on the original post? I don't think I can give you any better pictures than those. Good and Evo provides some really good close-ups from all different angles of both cases.

If you haven't already checked out the links, take a peek...!

I noticed that with the EVO "naked" as well... I don't think it's the case...

Try it without the case and see if you have the same wobble...

Please let us know!!!

I've bought seidio cases for both my mogul and touch pro's. I like them, they are great! But the cost, (was a lot more) is expensive. Like I mentioned in another thread, I like their products but I hate having to pay hundreds more for accessories on each phone upgrade!

definitely, that's why i always buy the slightly damaged things when possible and applicable lol. I've saved so much money that way!

i think this time around I might buy the mugen battery. They've always been cheaper (i think) and promise the same. Seidio does have decent customer service though. So we'll find out!

Re: Siedio Vs Body Glove! (Just my opinion)

How is the fitment overall for the seidio case? I'm wondering if it might fit with the invisible shield on, as i am bound to use it sometimes without the case and i would like to still be protected. Using a silicone sleeve right now which works fine but its not gonna be awesome against impact.

D\/8 06-16-2010 08:25 AM

Re: Siedio Vs Body Glove! (Just my opinion)

I had a slight loosness that I resolved with some felt contact paper... With a skin such as Invisible shield, it may be a perfect fit... Then again, you may still have some slight play between the phone and the case...
