Screen Protector install tutorial?
Ive searched the Evo forum for help, but only find reviews of screen protectors. And not actual info on the best way to install them.
Like many, i've watched a few youtube videos on installing them, mostly iphone videos. They use different methods, plus i think it makes it easier becuz the screen is small compared to the evo. So, whats the best way to install one? any tip or tricks for no lint, or bubbles? Ive heard shower trick, soapy water trick, credit card trick, but have no idea what they are, or if they even work. can some 1 help me? ion wanna pay geek-squad 20+ bucks to do sumthin that might me relatively simple, according to the videos ive seen. |

Hold on... I remember a good one in the TP forum that I used and it worked flawlessly... You couldn't even tell it was on there if you were looking for it...

Re: Screen Protector install tutorial?
What screen protector are you putting on?
It depends, because if you are putting on a skin then there should be instructions with the box. Simple way is to dip the different parts in warm water. Clean your hands, make sure they are wet. Take the individual piece out of the water, let the access water drip off and place it on the phone. The wetness will help you maneuver the part onto the phone. Then if you have bubbles, take a flat surface like a credit card, and remove them. Start at the center, and work your way to the sides of the phone. For a pure screen protector, you can do that same method. The shower trick works nice too. First turn the shower on and wait until the bathroom gets steamy. This will remove all the dust from the air, so you will get a perfect installation. NOTE: For the shower trick, I always worry to trip the water sensor. So what I do is cut a piece of paper a little bigger than the water sticker, and then place the paper on top of the sticker and tape the paper on top. This will protect the sensors from going off. Make sure you do no put tape directly on the water sensor, it will rip if off. Hence the paper. Hope that helps man. |

i get how a wet screen protector can let u slide it around to adjust it, but when it dries, how does it not have water mark stains? or am i missing sumthing?

Re: Screen Protector install tutorial?
surprisingly, it doesn't. The only time when it left a mark for me is when I used soap and once the soap dried, I got a white ring of residue from the soap. So you should use a light soap if you use soap.
You will notice the water under the screen for a day, a day and a half max. But once dry, trust me, it will be crystal clear. |
Re: Screen Protector install tutorial?
This is why I have BBY or Zagg dealers put mine on for me. Much easier that way.

Re: Screen Protector install tutorial?
Well damn, how hard is it to put on a screen protector? When I bought my tp2 I used the stock screen protector and I simply just put it on, no other tips, tricks or tutorials and it went on perfectly and its still on and you can't even tell that a protector is on the screen. Just take your time unless you have tourettes or something.

Re: Screen Protector install tutorial?
This is the way I have done tons of screen protectors and it works can of air I use an air compressor higher pressure but I have used can of air it works. You will use can of air to remove all dust and just put it on starting from one end working your way down peeling as you go. The water does leave marks unless you use distilled water there are minerals and every thing else in tap water it will leave streaks. I clean with mix 50/50 distilled water and 70% rubbing alcohol to get all smuges and prints off let dry use air to help dry and remove all dust particles then start appling protector from top to bottom I get a flawless application every time doing this I do use a air compressor because it just works a little better then cans of air.
