RS:Only UNIVERSAL Accessories?
 

Just got a call from my local RS store. They wanted to set up an appointment for me EVO. I asked what accessories they had and was told they were not going to have ANY (except maybe a zagg screen protector) for the EVO. All they were going to have were UNIVERSAL ones...and that I HAD to use my $20 accessory credit at the time of purchase. I asked to buy what? They said maybe a universal car charger. HMMMMMM!!!! That sucks...not even any EVO cases. I asked about adapters to go from mini to micro USB...nope. They said it will be at least a few weeks till the get anything in. And this is one of the LARGER RS in the area.

LOL @ the radioshack $20 accessory that you have to use when they have no accessories. you can always get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable.

just went into radio shack and had them take me off the list. when asked why i whiped out the Evo and you shoulda seen the look on their faces, jaws dropped all over the floor. the manager was so confused lol

All I can say is...I hope so!! The radio shack I am going to, is one of the larger in my area. The manager told me they won't have EVO specific stuff for at least a week or two.

Yeah, basically what mine told me yesterday. That's fine though, all I really need from them is the car charger and maybe another usb or wall charger.

WOW! That sucks, so much for 15% and 20 dollars of and accessory. I was hoping to get a case and a screen protector. I guess I will be waiting in line at a Sprint store to get some accessories.

where did anyone hear about 15% off? I know about the $20 credit, but not about 15% off. Also, is it one or the other, or can you have both?

My RS told me if i came in before 9am I would get and additional 15% discount toward and accessory. Btw my RS is opening at 6am.

In the past when talking to the RS associates the 15% off was tied into one of their like 90 days same as cash things. Not sure if that is what they are going to try to attach at the time of sale. I just talked to my RS in the PLano texas area that they will be PRE ORdering accessories at the time of the phone purchase. I guess what they think is that if you dont have something to buy with that 20 GC at that moment then you would put it towords a preorder for an accessorie.

Just got back from my local RS. In BFE North Carolina(its ok I love the Mountains and my farmer attitude). They had universal screen protectors and also car chargers. Had both already set back for me and my phone. Its ashame they are gunna make me wait till 615pm tomorrow lol. But told me they would honor the 15% at the time of purchase for me! Sometimes you just got be extra nice to them thats all. They even went as far as saying they would FIND someway to get my contacts over to Android even if it meant putting them in the computer themselves. Although I already have them synced to Google lol. Any idea about the screen protectors? I think 3 for 14.99 and then the universal car charger was 25.99? I really want the dam case may have to drive 35 miles to Sprint to go get one tomorrow.

Spoke to my RS guy earlier today and he said that I could buy an accessory worth $20 and come back and exchange it in a week or so when they get something I want. Not a great option, but it will have to do...don't really need anything else. I've already got a car charger, some mini-to-micro USB connectors (ebay $.99 shipped), and Ghost Armor ready to go.

I went to my local NYC radio shack (Battery Park) yesterday looking for a gel case. They have absolutely NOTHING in stock until "maybe" Friday.

What a load of crap. That means for all the enforced "You must use your $20 accessory credit TODAY" garbage all those people got stuck buying absolutely whatever the store had. I have to go back there today to get a wall charger as any aftermarket ones don't work with the Evo (tried 3 and all three failed), but I bet they won't have them in stock etiher.

What's the point of releasing a device and having practically NO accessories for it on release or even within a week of release?

Sprint=Fail.

Yeah, this irritated me when I bought my phone. I asked the guy if I could get a gift card and he said no. I replied that what good is my $20 credit if you guys don't have any accessories and he said "we have TONS of accessories."

Apparently TONS is a car charger that many people already have, and a screen protector. So I bought the car charger and will return it later for something else, but I do lose the 20% off (buying 2 accessories) because I wanted a case and screen protector (the zagg is too sticky).

What pissed me off the most is that the manager lied to me when I called before the phone came and said that they had accessories and would be getting more with the first phone shipment.
