Unlock the Lock Screen - Button other than Power Button
 

Does anyone know of a program that will allow you unlock the lock screen by using the volume up/down buttons or other buttons in lieu of the power button? I know Widget Locker and MagicLocker both do that, but they add a different interface and I'm not too sure if they are causing other programing to freeze. I'd be happy to stay with the lock screen that comes with the 3D....just looking to be able to unlock with the volume buttons.

I suspect that my suggestion will not work for you because you use the lock screen, but I installed a free market app called No Lock, that prevents the lock screen and also allows the volume up or down to control turning on the screen. I also use Screen Off Widget or Screen Off and Lock to place an icon on my home screen to turn off the screen. This way, I rarely use the power button at all, except for acutally powering it down.

thanks, but i do like the lock screen for security.....i'd just like to be able to "wake up" the phone using the volume keys... it's awkward to use the power button, especially using just one hand!

you can try this mod.....it has the "volume keys wake screen" option

the download seems to be an ".exe" file?? not sure how to install that?

finally got this loaded on the EVO 3D, and I've check the box for "Volume keys wake screen" but this doesn't seem to allow the phone to wake up using the volume keys. Any thoughts??
