Is it to much difference?

I know the first thing is the hardware. And because of thatthe performance.

I really can live without the 3d stuff for me is not a must have.

Can anyone help me to choose between the evo 3d vs evo 4g.

thanks

definitely the EVO 3D, the specs are far better, why by an older phone? The 3D will get much more support/upgrades too.

if i can do almost the same things in an older device with a lower budget why go for a most expensive device. that is why i am considering the evo 4g.

Sounds like your mind is made up then....

But honestly I see your delima.

If $$$ isn't an issue, get the 3D. as previously posted, better specks, support, possible upgradability, closer to Gingerbread that the E4G.

But if $$ is an issue, then yes, go with the E4G. I for one know, price can make a difference. especially with this economy.

I don't use the 3D part of the phone, but with more memory, I have no issues with having to delete an app to make room for another or newer app. Or choosing, which ones I get rid of to compensate for the others I need or want.

closer to gingerbread does not means that it never be gingerbread?

Not saying that. Was trying to keep it in Layman's term.

My understanding is that the 3D's latest versions of the rom are closer to gingerbread which is what is the latest Rom Google is working on.

That mens that the 4G isn't or wasn't. Newer powerhouse devices are usually the 1st to be upgraded to these roms.

The 4G is older, and is sometimes scheduled for upgrade later than the newer devices or sometimes not scheduled at all to be upgraded is all I was trying to illustrate.

Just more info to help you in your decision making process

as it stands now, the EVO 4G is Gingerbread 2.3, the EVO 3D is Gingerbread 2.3.4 with the addition of Sense 3.0.

from my understanding, the EVO 4G will not receive anymore official updates, unless it's a minor maintenance update. It's highly unlikely it will receive a newer OS. Though the dev community will continue to update.

on the other hand, EVO 3D should eventually officially get Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0

really, if it comes down to $$$, get the EVO 4G, unlock it, root it & flash a custom ROM that has Android 2.3.4 + Sense 3.0 & you'll be close to the 3D (sortof)

One thing I can say is if you talk a lot on the phone the call quality is worse on the 3D. That's the only area where the original wins. I do an online radio show and can no longer use wired headsets like I did with the original Evo because the reception from my 3D is so bad.

Re: Is it to much difference?

The screen is slightly longer so whole unit is narrower which means it's easier to hold.
The bottom buttons are too close to the edge, and very sensitive, so you may end up touching them when holding unit.
A case should help.
Other than that, the EVO3D is a very sweet unit : )
I use the volume+ app which helps.

Someone mentioned in threads about not updating a part of unit after afull factory restore, and the signal was much better,
So I would expect that issue to hopefully be resolved in future update..
