EVO 3D wifi killing network

For some reason my 3VO is killing my home network when I try to use the wifi... When I turn it on it will connect and work fine for a few minutes then just kills the connection to my entire wireless network. My network still shows up on all of my devices (laptop, 3VO, EVO 4G, etc.), but nothing will connect to it. I have to reset my wireless router everytime. Anyone else have an issue like this?

The 3VO is killing me! Its starting to look like I'm gonna be sending it back before my 30 days is up.

I thought there was an option on the phone to disconnect after a set time that could be changed to never. Not on wifi now so I can't check.

What are you using for encryption?

Is it an N connection? If so can you force a g connection from the router?

ive seen this on evo and 3vo...try updating the firmware on your router.

What router brand/model btw?

I have a Netgear N router. Not sure of the model off the top of my head, I'll have to check that when I get home.

As for Encryption I'm using WPA.

I'll check into a firmware update and see if there is one available for my router also.

Wow, good thing im not the only one with this problem. I have the exact same problem. When i first got my 3d the wifi was awesome. Now whenever i do a speed test of anything internet it just dies. i checked and there aren't any firmware updates for my router. hmm

I'm having this problem ... but it's not consistent. In fact, I've been rearranging my network stuff to try to figure out the problem for days now. It didn't dawn on me that it could be tied to the phone until I saw this thread.

Nothing specific makes it happen each time, but if I am messing with my phone -- data intensive on wifi -- it will sometimes kick everybody off of the network. I don't have to reboot the modem or router or anything, just disconnect laptops and reconnect. It was the worst when my oldest daughter was talking to her husband in Afghanistan and she got kicked from the network. She freaked. She's very emotional. LOL

Anyway, now I can stop pulling my hair out and not turn on wifi at home until I see more information about this.

My router has the most recent firmware. I have a Netgear N router and a Motorola Surfboard modem, both from Comcast. Maybe I should upgrade and buy my own?

I wouldnt go that far just yet; it could be something as simple as a setting on the router. Someone with some more technical knowledge on the subject needs to chime in.

Do you know if your router has QoS (Quality of Service) settings? it sets precedence for different applications.

I had a problem before when kids were in the other room on Youtube. I had a Netgear router that didn't have the QoS settings, so I upgraded to a better Netgear router. I've never had the problem again.

I don't see QoS settings. Maybe I am overlooking them. I have a Netgear N-150 WNR1000v2. What router did you upgrade to?
