Re: Your fav GPS app?

I just wanted to post an update/problem?

I have been using sygic, but this weekend was the first time I used it on a long trip where I had no idea where I was going. It was terrible, not sure if it was the phone, sygic, bad signal, etc. but it was jumping ALL OVER. I mean I would be going 80mph on the interstate and it would tell me to turn right, then left, then left, then left, then right then continue down the highway for 60 miles. Then in 5 miles, the same thing. Many times when I was on a road, it would jump over to a road that was a block away, then try and tell me to get back to the road i was on, etc.

On the way home, I used google navigation and it was the exact same way. So I am not sure if the gps in the phone was goofy, something in android acting up, or what the heck was going on. I read on the market there was an update to sygic to "fix" the problems with htc phones and sense, so maybe it is that? didn't get a chance to update it and try it yet?

Google maps doesn't require data anymore. Plus it works almost flawless with android phones and all their features. Of course, telenav is more accurate and they offer speed limit and live traffic updates if you want to pay extra.

I have only used TeleNav or Navigation on the Evo and the 3D and I find myself going back and forth every few weeks depending on the success or lack thereof from the other. This convo has me possibly looking into another option, not trying to pay for another app though. Sprint Navigation on my HTC Mogul (WM) led me on a 1600 mile 2 day trip back in 2008.

I've got motonav on my epic. No data required! Works great but I mostly use google.

I got CoPilot working fine on my 3D. I install it on my wife Optimus T but it hang at 90% all the time.

I like Navigon. It's a fairly straight forward offline GPS app and I like the interface. Garmin recently bought them if I remember right.
