EDIT: Here is a link to someone who is editing the stock Netflix app we can get from the Market to include screen rotation and different color loading screens which is currently maintained by the original poster. (The apps originally mentioned in the first post of this thread have been removed from xda.)

Note that I am only a proxy for this stuff since I thought it would benefit us here to obtain and be aware of these Netflix applications that enhance the stock app available from the Market. I have now changed to using one of these apps, the one with the black loading screen, and it is the same in quality as the SupremeOne app. I'll be using these from now on myself.

Hey guys,

The .apk files in the post at xda have high definition codecs and auto screen rotation that looks good on the Evo 3D. I like being able to rotate the screen while watching netflix, esp. if I want to charge the phone at the same time I'm watching Netflix in landscape mode.

This was posted on the Evo 3D forum at xda on June 25th claiming "We have TESTED and CONFIRMED the NetFlix HiDef/1080p apps found at the link below to work like a charm on the Sprint Evo 3D!"

I have "NetFlixONE-HiDef1080p-BlueSea-VXXX.apk" running well on my Evo 3D. I uninstalled the Netflix app I had on there originally before installing this one.

Sorry if this has already been posted here...I didn't see it and thought the more that enjoyed this, the merrier.

EDIT: Since the files that were accessible on XDA were taken down, I have attached the latest one that I grabbed and have been using on my Evo 3D from there. I hope others can benefit from this work. Enjoy.

So....this a HD Netflix app? Sorry...I'm a bit confused as to exactly what this is. There are upwards of 5 differnt apps listed in the post.

These apps contain the high definition codecs to stream up to 1080p from Netflix (if your bandwidth can handle it). They also contain screen rotation and the "SuperOne" is optimized for processors running at 1.0 MHZ and above. Also has some color contrast added to it. That post I linked to has descriptions of each file.

The NetflixONE BlueSea = NetflixOne RedSea except it has a blue background behind the "NetFlix" logo when starting up.

I just switched to the SuperOne app. The description, from the link in the OP, is:
6./ NetFlixSuperONE1 VXXXX1.7 a high end NetFlix app designed for 4.3/4.5/4.7 or higher wide screen Android mobile devices with 1.0/1.2/1.4/1.5 or higher MHz processors. This NetFlix app is set apart from all other NetFlix apps, because of the added enhancement auto detect video data stream codecs and ColorConversion technology!

I downloaded the NetFlixONE-HiDef1080p-BlueSea- after erasing my old netflix app from the original Evo and man it was worth it. Before I was getting a blurry picture on wifi and 4G now am getting hi def on 3G. This is the best thing i've discovered since I got this phone. Everyone using netflix should try this.

How would you compare that to the blue sea one?

Well, it essentially seems the same to me. A few videos I went back and rewatched for a few minutes and it seemed like the quality was better, but I'm pretty susceptible to that infamous placebo effect. The loading splash screen was still blue, screen auto-rotation still worked without any issues so far.

All in all, from my personal perspective, it seems practically the same. Though I don't nitpick much on the vibrancy of the colors. I'm enjoying the app!

**It's a lot better than hulu video, but that was to be expected.

I thought that netflix wasn't working on te 3d? If it is can you point me in the right direction of the app, cuz I can't find it on the marketplace.

It is available in the marketplace now. I haven't tried that one, but it looks like Netflix didn't update the program, just simply added our phone to the list of authorized devices.

Netflix has worked for the 3D since it was released, just not "officially" through the marketplace. The OP has a link to a thread that has files you can install that will work, but I've attached the one I am currently enjoying on my Evo 3D if you wanted to use that one instead of going to that link or searching the Market.
