Does anyone know what the little triangle with the exclamation point in the top left corner is indicating?

Put your finger over it and slide down toward the bottom of the phone. It will tell you what the information is that is associated with the notification.

Directly below the C in the HTC which is on the front bezel in the top left corner of the phone.

It also means USB Debugging mode.

Glad you figured it out, just another thing this can be though is a severe weather alert (if you are running Weatherbug Elite)
