Enable Power Efficiency

What is this really doing with the network connection and auto sync? Is it more of a benefit or does it sort of defeat the purpose of a phone like this? Who has it enabled and how do you like the phone while it is? Do you leave it enabled all the time, or only when you are away from a charging source?

I enabled it yesterday after watching my battery drain itself quite fast. Seems to be holding a charge a bit better since. No negative impacts for me yet.

Found somewhere online that after 3 minutes of inactivity it will effectively kill your 3g connection and go to sleep. Only when you fire up the phone will the connection resume. I'm not sure that it is worth that....

I would imagine that the text would force the phone to wake up the 3g connection. Not 100% sure though. Going to test it out and let you know.

SMS text messages use the 1X channel on CDMA networks. Not the 3G/4G channels.

Smurf is right. It didn't affect sms messages.

Sounds like it doing a little of what juice defender does. How often (if at all) does it turn data back on to check for updates, emails etc. when screen is off? does it come back on when screen is on?

Had it enabled for a few days now, and my battery life gets better and better. Not sure if its my battery finally settling in or due to this. I'm thinking a little of both. Defiantly gonna leave this enabled.

Have you noticed any issues with apps or email?

Slacker radio acts up from time to time. Email notifications come in within seconds of receiving an email.

It says the it will turn off auto-sync and connection always on.

Looks like you would have to update any of the apps and programs manually.
