Re: 4 GB internal???
OK.....let me explain....
You have 4GB internal. That 4GB is occupied by the rom (2.3.3 gingerbread) and everything associated with it including all the apps pre-installed. This leaves you about 1GB of user space available to install apps of your choosing. I think I had .95GB available to me but I didn't check it. Although, I think how they portray the specs is misleading to the average consumer. The specs should have read: 4GB internal memory with 1GB of user space available. |
Re: 4 GB internal???
Also the supposed 1gb of ram which actually is only 860mb?

Re: 4 GB internal???
Because ram in smartphones is exactly like ram in a PC. When the phone is on, start-up apps and the OS use ram to function. There is no difference.
1GB = 1024mb. 164mb is being used by the system. If you use Windows 7, download a gadget that shows cpu usage and ram. I have 8GB ram in my system and win7 and start up apps use 24% of that 8GB right off the bat at startup. It fluctuates higher and lower depending on usage. Smartphones do the same thing. |
Re: 4 GB internal???
I was stating that if I had the 1GB total It would show the 1G.. not less. It doesn't matter if it is being used or not it should still show total avail.

Re: 4 GB internal???
If you go into settings>about phone>hardware information, there it will show that you have 1GB of ram. You are looking in the applications running stats aren't you? It will only show there what RAM that's being used and what you have left. NO matter how you look at it, there is 1GB of ram in the phone. I understand what you are trying to say here but there is no deception here and this is just the way it works.

Re: 4 GB internal???
All things considered this upgraded capacity should be a really good thing once the devs get a crack at it I'm thinking; right?
