How to turn off Swype?
Hey like the topic says,
I found this problem not on one but all three of my Evo's. There was not an option to turn on Swype in Input Selection. Then When I went to Swype Setting and Hit Swype Tutorial to see if it was even working, I ended up turning it on since a prompt to use Swype came up. But still there is no option of hoing back to the regular Keyboard now. Anyone know how to turn off Swype and switch back to the regular keyboard?? And if you are trying to turn on Swype, just go to Swype Setting and hit Tutorial and you will get a prompt asking if you wish to use swype as your input method. Thanks. :) |

But to turn it off.. Open a text message long hold in the input area. This will bring up the Input Method box. Just select that then the keyb you want. |

If that doesnt work...
Go to your home screen, Menu - Settings - Keyboard - Uncheck SWYPE |

I cant do it that way... hence my instructions above. It seems like a different set up than what it would normally be. Also the way I noted was from the instructions on the device. AFAIK that's the only way to do it. I could be wrong, I will check again. |

What you can do is is go to Task Manager and kill the Swype Process and it will restore the old keyboard. I did not see a option to check/uncheck swype usage in Language and Keyboard. But well I finally figured it out.. :) |

Re: How to turn off Swype?
No option under the Settings -> Keyboard Menu to enable swype
I enabled by holding down the input selector in a text message to switch to swype and you can undo it by doing the same |
