My E3D Can't Find HTC Sync Win 7
 

I just received my E3D and am trying to sync my Outlook 207 calendar to the phone.

I have Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit on the PC and I have downloaded and installed HTC Sync several different times.

I downloaded the latest version of HTC Sync from HTC Support and installed it when I plug in the phone the PC recognizes it is plugged in

When I plug in the phone, it asks what I want to do and I tell it I want to sync with the pc and then push done. It then tells me that it is looking to find HTC Sync on the PC after about one minute it comes back and says that it can't find Sync on the PC.

I did search and found some information regarding the loading of the adb.exe driver. It said that that was a problem in the 64 bit Vista OS. I even tried those drivers and there was no change. Still could not locate HTC Sync on the PC

Nothing I have tried seems to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Same problem here, but where did you find it? Nothing shows up on Sprint or HTC sites specifically for E3D, I downloded the Sync for the plain EVO.

There seems to be nothing specific for the E3D.

I think I found it on the Evo 4G page. When I downloaded it and installed it there was an upgrade I had to install.

I hope that someone has this figured out. All of the stuff I found on search was from 2 or 3 years ago. You would think that they would have figured it out by now.

Ah, looks like it's a firewall setting. I disabled it on my Win 7 machine and the phone connected. Now onto figuring out which port is getting blocked...

So perhpas running install executable with admin privledges would do the trick during install?

Ugh, it tries to connect once or twice but sync fails. Back to the drawing board...

What I have to do is start HTCSync BEFORE plugging the phone in. If HTCSync isn't running, the phone will never find it. It's not like ActiveSync where when you plug the phone in ActiveSync starts. HTCSync doesn't seem to work that way.

It's something else, HTC Sync was running when I connected the phone, same result. It recognizes the phone for like a sec or two and then drops it.

I just received and installed an update this morning.

It is 3.0.5517.

This one synced up just perfectly---once! We will see how it does later.

I hope this works for the rest who are having problems!
