Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

This is my first time using battery. In 5 hrs my battery is almost gone. I now know to turn off 4G when not in use. I always have BT and Wifi off anyway.

I order 2 battery and extra charge for $8. It will come in 2 weeks.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Hey @boe, I wonder if you'd be interested in the battery monitor app. I'm using it and it had graphs and such showing battery use, even keeps a history if you want to look at it of when current changed etc.

You've probably done all the research and monitoring you want, but just in case you find this useful. I use it for a percentage of battery left, with BMW A White icons (circle icon) and for checking the current, temp, etc., when I want to look at it.

Battery Monitor Widget (I don't use it as a widget, just status/notification bar)

I wonder if Juice Defender would help at all too... if you felt like checking it out:

I don't mean to be throwing craploads of apps at you, just pointing out things that may be useful to people if they weren't aware of them. I was happy to discover these, being new to Android.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Thanks. I tried Juice defender yesterday - it seemed to have a glitch that caused something to be hinky so I've given up on that. I'm still thinking there has to be a way to tweak it a bit further but still get push notications on email and the like.

I suppose if I could set the hours for background data and auto sync I could possibly squeeze out another 30 minutes but that wouldn't help me during work hours when I need the battery to last.

It turns off my data when my phone sleeps in my pocket for me, my battery is longer due to that. Im lazy and like that auto stuff, just like how advanced task killer kills deals for me every 30 mins. I almost forget I have it doing that sometimes.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Day 7 - From a full charge plugged in overnight on AC adapter 91%
1 - 4G Off
2 - Wifi -disabled
3 - BT on
4 - 150 minutes of phone calls made on BT
5 - about 15 minutes of reading emails and fiddling with apps
6 - No gaming
7 - 3 bars
8- One exchange accounts sync
9 - no pictures
10 -GPS disabled
11 - screen set for about 15%/20% brightness - nearly all the way down.
12 - htc sense sync turned off

Strange improvement. I exchanged my phone in case there was something wrong with my phone. All settings identical to my old phone except I only set up 1 email account for the fisrt day (set for push as it was on the old phone. Unplugged at 10:30 AM at about 91% it is now 13 hours later - Battery currently at 23%. I'll find out tomorrow how it survives with 2 e-mail accounts. All the same apps are installed, I backed them up before trading phones.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

I just got 2 batteries and a external cradle charger for $9 shipped from China.

So far so good.

Opening the case on a 3D to exhange battery is not the crazy thing I want to do. It is not as easy compare to my TP2.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

Those batteries might turn out to be 1000mAh despite whatever the sticker says. Almost all of them coming from China have been incorrectly labelled. I got burned... but having one fully charged can get you through the rest of your day probably.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

How do I find out if it is only 1000 mAH? I dont have a microscale to weight it.

I do have a multimeter and I have to find it.

I did have a good experience with my 2 OEM battery n charger for my TP2 and it is like the real thing.

Re: Post your battery life on the EVO 3D here

I am going do a test on this OEM battery vs the original ...

Turn on screen ON all the time, run 4G, IM+ and AndroIRC and turn on TIMER.

Wait until the screen pop up about battery running low, then stop timer.

Both OEM and HTC battery are rather new n have been thru deep discharge and recharge at least 2x

Is this a good test ?
