Are you going to get warranty on your 3D?

Are you going to get warranty on your 3D?

I am not going to get it thru Asurion thru Sprint anymore.

I am going to use Square Trade.

1. Any advice?

2. Is it crazy not to get a warranty?

3. If my phone died (no fault of mine) within one year, is HTC going to fix it? or Sprint?

Why Square Trade as opposed to Asurion through Sprint?

Re: Are you going to get warranty on your 3D?

I had bad experience at the Sprint store when my TP2 was acting funny. The guy open the case at the back n said my phone had been drop in the water cause of the pink strip. (Does 3D has this indicator?) Anyway that was enough paying them.

You can get it thru BT for $93 for 2 years.

I am very careful with my phone. Usually my phone died cause of the electronics. I never had my phone drop or crack screen.

Now, the other thing is can I take the chance with no insurance? Is my cc going pay for the 2nd year? How do I go about doing this? Anyone had done this before?

I think all phones have the water indicator. But I've read that other things can make it change color too, ipods had a problem with that and they wouldn't cover the repairs until they realized that it wasn't water damage making the color on the indicator change.

Re: Are you going to get warranty on your 3D?

That strip is annoying; there are a lot of things that can make it change that cause no damage whatsoever to the phone. That outside indicator seems more like a scam to me than anything else. Traveling to a humid place caused mine to turn red (I noticed when I went to change my sd card). Because of that one strip, trade-in value is a lot less than it was. I've never needed it repaired, but I'm sure if I did, they would try to claim something about that.

There's a second strip on a lot of phones that's "deeper" inside the phone which indicates water that would have gotten inside the phone.

Re: Are you going to get warranty on your 3D?

If I dont pay the $100 for 2 yrs, then I save that money.

I will get the 3D for $200. I can sell for TP2 for $100, so that makes my 3D for $100.

I wonder if I should take the chance w/o insurance.

And replacement cost without: $500
