Just got a June 4th date "UNOFFICIAL"

Spoke to some people who are working on the release and they gave me this as the "unofficial" release date.

Bootloader locked or unlocked? That's the most important question right now

I'm going to have to agree. If the EVO 3D came out unlocked, since it would probably come first, I'd get it. However if it is locked, I might as well wait for the Samsung Galaxy S II. I really need a new phone yesterday, but why lock myself into a 2 year contract with a locked phone.

i like your double use of the word "lock". i'm sure there is a literary term for it right now but i can't think of it

Is it sad I woke up in the middle of the night hoping for something official on the forums even though I knew most of us are probably sleeping right now...

I hope it's unsigned and comes out June 4th...

If it's going to be released on June 4th I would think it'd be impossible for them to change it unsigned in less than a week.

I agree with you a turn around to unsigned in such a short amount of time might be out of the question considering the phone has probably already gone into mass production, but im hoping once released there will be some sort of system leak that helps the knowledgable hacks crack the lockdown quickly, or maybe a OTA update from HTC that will undo it shortly after release

For those that know more about it, is it possible to "update" the phones if they decide to change the bootloader after a consumer has the phone in his hand? Could some kind of user, or in-store update allow people who got the phone anyway to change to an unsigned bootloader?

yeah, it's as easy as an OTA or flashing a new RUU
