HDMI/Charger!?!
 

HTC has transitioned over to the MHL standard, which allows a single MicroUSB port to serve as both the charge/data link and an HDMI-quality output. I wanted to know what are your thought's and opinion on this, do you agree with HTC for taking that route!?!

Well the MHL port is kinda becoming a trend..

Nokia, Samsung, Silicon Image, Sony and Toshiba are the companies that are promoting it..

aka thats some of the biggest phone and TV manufacturers....

MHL 2.0 in the future will also have support for 3d content...

I think its a step in the right direction...we don't need 20 ports on our devices..the less ports there are..the more room manufacturers have to make a phone have more power or thinner...

Now you will have to get a new HDMI cord because the ones the Evo 4G has will not fit!

If 2.0 in't out yet to support 3D then don't expect to see it on the new evo.

As for the idea, if it charges just as fast as wall charger then I'm all for it, another way to save space is always a good thing
