I guess I was more refering to out of hand as in people not respecting the work table that is a Dev thread. I dont want to sound like an elite here, but the Dev forums I know are ones utilized for productivity and efficency. For the purpose of benefiting the community as a whole with the goals that are achieved. There are many people over ther (Stephanie something) who continue to ignore the pleads to stop posting random garbage, pleads coming from those using that thread for its implied purpose. Just my two cents. I was very happy to mirror (and will continue to) the FAQ I'm writing/gathering because I hope that getting the info out will make the EVO 3D a better experience for all of us.

/Steps of soap box

Sorry as I know this isn't Dev really and kind of goes against my whole position. I just wanted to clarify the previous comment, not trying to start flames with anyone.

Rumor mill time....

According to the dev of fre3vo... Sprint is getting ready to push an unlocked bootloader along with some other updates...

Twitter...

File under rumour from Sprint: 2.3.4 patch for GV video has an unlocked bootloader. Maybe fre3vo^2 is the way to go until an official drop?

I'm not halting Fre3Dom. I'm finish up Fre3vo^2. If rumor is false, Fre3Dom is still in dev. If it's true, HTC gives us our Fre3Dom.

Crosses fingers...

Yea but if sgs2 comes out I'm trading this off for a new one in box bc I this after the epic I'm in love with samsung. I had the old evo and shift but idk. Hopefully it comes soon before the sgs2 so I can at least play a bit hehe

This is what they told me:

Code:

Dear Scott Crosler,

Thank you Scott for contacting HTC Technical Support.
I  understand that you're inquiring about unlocking the bootloader on your  evo 3D. It is indeed very good to research your device while you have  it on a trial basis. We are indeed unlocking all of our devices, which  is the good news, however we do not have an ETA on that or for any  specific models at this time. I am sorry this will not help you much in  the next 30 days. Good luck with your decision!

Thank you

But yeah... They could be backtracking now. Im still hoping the Dev community comes through. There are some smart people working on it. Other devs have cracked a couple devices recently that were un-crackable.
