HTC Incredible on Sprint

This is a newbie question since I am still new to the scene, but is it possible for me to purchase an HTC Incredible second hand and use it for Sprint?

if so, what are the complications with that?

From what I've read in the past, you have to talk to the right rep to get this done but its gonna be a long shot. CDMA providers lock there phones down to there service only unlike gsm phones. Most people here will tell you to just get an EVO 4g. Its worth a try and call sprint but don't expect success. Hope this helps.

Sprint will not activate phones with a VZW ESN and vice versa.

Really? then explain how there are tons of sprint touch pros on the VZW network. It can be done but like mentioned above gotta get the right rep. But seriously just get an evo and save the hasle

around the time the tp came out vzw was allowing people to add their esn to the system. probably because they felt bad because their tp was so gimped. i don't know but they shut it down a month or two after word got out. they absolutely will not do it now unless you get VERY lucky.

my incredible should be here in a few days... can't wait to get it set up :)

WAIT..

SINCE THE RECENT ARTICLE OF THE DRM MAKING IT LEGAL TO jailbrake phone to change carriers

does that mean I can bring an Incredible to the sprint store for them to do it for me?

hopefully this works. otherwise im confused rofl.

Re: HTC Incredible on Sprint

According to the article it may only apply to gsm phones. Meaning the SIM could be unlocked to be used with other gsm carriers without the carrier giving him/her trouble. Thats my understanding of it.

It is possible to get an Incredible on Sprint, just not legally and the method isn't allowed to be discussed on this forum.

Re: HTC Incredible on Sprint

Ive run Sprint,Verizon,US Cellular, any cdma device on the Cricket network. Cricket will activate any US cdma carriers device on their network. Over the years ive flashed and used alot of different devices on Crickets network, some devices & OS's work better than others & some devices work perfectly. Ive personally used a few Motorola moto q series devices,Sprint HTC Touch Pro,Touch Pro 2, HTC Evo 4G, & my current device which is an HTC Incredible. All of the devices i listed functioned nearly perfect on Cricket. My droid Inc works flawlessly. Unlimited everything for only $45 a month, plus $5 a month for roaming because Crickets coverage area is the only limitation. So for $50 a month, actually $52.63 total,i have an HTC Incredible fully flashed and functional on Crickets network. And no u dont have to use Crickets Android plan,$55 a month,on a non-Cricket branded flashed Android device. Crickets 3G is quite fast too, especially for the price. Ive done speedtest comparisons using the same devices, with the same roms & radios using several different speedtests available and Crickets 3G speed is not any slower than Sprint or Verizon. I like Crickets service because its affordable, has good 3G speed, and they will activate any carriers device to their network. I like to be able to use any device i want and not be limited to only Sprint or Verizon devices.
