Eventually upgrade to android 2.2?
I am seriously considering changing over from my Imagio to the Incredible, and was wondering if anyone knows if this phone will be supported to be able to load Android 2.2. I probably will switch anyways, but this will help make the transition faster than it probably would otherwise.

of which brings me to my next question. Can you download any program for the droid and run it, or does it have to come from the market place only?

Now you have to get the apps from the Market. You can't use WM apps at all.
Rumor is , 2.2 will be here in June. Sent from my Droid Incredible using Tapatalk |

Article over on phonearena today claims Android 2.2 will be twice as fast as 2.1.

Re: Eventually upgrade to android 2.2?
I switch from the Imagio to the Increbile myself the day the incredible came out. I love it and I don't think I will be going back to Winmo!! Just my two cents since I saw you would be coming from the imagio.

Re: Eventually upgrade to android 2.2?
I have heard the DI will be getting the Froyo upgrade, but VZW is always slow about these things. Our best bet for it is ROOT.

Re: Eventually upgrade to android 2.2?
The people working on root are saying htc went above and beyond to keep this phone from being rooted.

Re: Eventually upgrade to android 2.2?
2.2 is to have WiFi Hotspot integrated as well.
for the chips with Wifi N it will also enable Wifi N we will see more of 2.2 "froyo" on May 19th if you want to see the news the day it happens, download the Google I/O App. How? Download Google I/O from marketplace on your Droid. http://phandroid.com/wp-content/uplo...googleioqr.png or snap this with your Droid using QR reader or Mobiletag **Warning!! There is an app on marketplace that asks people to send them to Google I/O by donating, be careful not to download this app. All the app does is have a shortcut to send the maker of the app a donation*** |
