Is there any way to improve the audio quality within video recordings?
Both my sister and bro-in-law have the Droid Eris. I have messed with their phones numerous times. I am however disappointed with the quality of the audio in the camera video recordings. Even in the HQ Mpeg4 mode, the audio still sounds all garbled. Now I KNOW after reading the data sheet on this phone that it is capable of an input sampling rate of 44khz. Why does it still record audio using the AMR codec? This phone has to be better than this. My Touch Pro 2 does it, why shouldn't the Eris? Is it a software issue? Are there any codecs that can be installed to improve the audio performance?

which version of the Android OS are you using? Try updating to 2.1 because there are some improvements in the camera functions.
overall the camera is not that great anyway. its average at best. |

Is the VZW update available? They are still running Android 1.5. According to them, they haven't received any kind of update notice from VZW. I guess it's supposed to tell you when updates are available?
