if you watch the video it that link has it was done on a updated "2.1" eris? what does this mean for us? or am i completely wrong but on that video the link has im almost positive that was on 2.1:scratch::scratch:

also if you go to the 2.1 forum i had a buddy tell me over there that i was supposed to do *228 after i did the update because my signal shows low alot of times but i never loose reception and web browsing is fine but what should i do on the *228 deal?

Me too, there and AndroidForums. What I've been wondering is how much different are the two ROMs? Now that they've rooted 1.5, shouldn't it be fairly easy to do 2.1? Or is that just because I know nothing about developing?

lol just *228 it. it should help it. you had to *228 it when you first got the phone so it wont hurt to do it again

The eris root file is actually a 2.1 upgrade as well. so they end up with a rooted version of 2.1. no version of 1.5 is rooted, to root you must upgrade. not the same as the leaked version, slightly different and older... but still root access. the reason you cant root the leaked version is because the rooted file is an older version (can't go backwards) I'm in the waiting boat too, loaded leaked 2.1. I'm sure the devs are cooking up some roms for their rooted erises....
