Navigation recommendations?

I see on some forums mention of "tom tom" and other navigation software, but when i visit the websites (tom tom, for example) they don't have any links to software (except for iphone). What do you guys recommend for voice guided navigation - and where do I find the programs?

ALSO: I own a navigon gps device. Is it possible to use that software and its maps on my diamond?

Re: Navigation recommendations?

I took a chance and installed sprint navigation on my phone. It has been at least 6 months since I used my free trial, and now I'm on a different rom. Does anyone know whether I will get another "free trial" or if this experiment will cost me $10 for the month (certainly not the end of the world). I did not see any warnings about charges when I opened it.

Yeah I would think it would prompt you about a trial service, but it's worth a shot! Besides google maps and msn live or whatever it is (which i really enjoy for gps reasons) I think Sprint GPS really does the most and is most effective. The audio turn by turn directions are great, automatic traffic checks and alerts, recalculates without any problems, and does all the points of interest and stuff.

Just make sure you aren't paying for it though! I am have what i think is a cheap plan that includes the sprint navi, and i think it's worth it. i can admit i get lost a lot :)

iGo8 or TomTom 7 are both great. I use iGO8. much better user interface & options but TOMTOM has less of a learning curve. Send me a PM if you want a link so you can try them out.
