Annoying data usage

Ok guys, after hours of fiddling with my Diamond and searching on the forumz, I have no answer.

What programs use data? I have every single program that I know on manual usage, yet every 5-10 mins my phone goes into data mode, yet I didn't do anything. I'm running MR6, and the only things I have installed are Finger Keyboard, A twitter app and sprint picture mail.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, you may want to install fdcsoft task manager to see what processes are running in the background. I am running MR6 as well and just installed the task manager. first thing I noticed (which is good) is opera9.exe is not running in the background which I thought might be the culprit. I do have active sync connected for exchange/hotmail sync so that is listed but do not see anything else that would cause data to turn on. maybe twitter is the culprit but maybe someone else will know. maybe try installing the task manager to see. If you need it, I can post the task manager.

Yeah, that would be great. I uninstalled twitter to start the process of elimination.....i thought it worked for a little while. But then right before i got a pic message, it started to go into data mode and start transferring data.

But yes! by all means post the task manager! Thanks!

It's probably QuickGPS.

I thought the info expires every 6 days or something? I have automatic downloading on that disabled, anyways....is this the quick GPS you speak of?

It was a thought but you already seem to have taken care of it. Name all the processes you have running in that task manager program posted above.

It seems to have resolved itself over the course of the day. If a new related problem arises, I'll be sure to post again and bump the thread lol....

Thanks so much guys!

just a quick thing you said that you noticed the data kick in right before you recieved a pic message, if i remember correctly that would be your problem. picture messages are sent by data and not like text messages so if you are only really noticing the data connecting when you send or receive a picture message then that would absolutely be it
