Diamond Camera Lightening issue

ok check this out i bring up htc camera and take a picture( all settings are set to default) as soon as my picture is taken i am brought to a viewing where i can delete email it or press back arrow and when i am looking at my pic here it is perfect in every way its sharp bright (even when taken in a dark place) just perfect. But when i press back arrow out of the picture - then back to view the picture (in htc album or any other picture viewer program) the picture is now darker. how come it saves my picture at a lower level of brightness??
