is there a way to reroute phonecalls over my WIFI?

I work in the basement during the day and get very poor reception, but my work has a WIFI network for employee's, is there a way to reroute my phone calls over wifi during business hours?

BETTER YET - call sprint and complain. the end result should be they send you a FREE Airrave and waive the service charge. the airrave will hook up to the internet (not wirelessly but..) recive your cell phone signal (and anyone else on sprint) and transmit though the broadband connection. TADA

my phone has built in wifi, why do i need another device to do this? Can't sprint have some software on the phone to do this?

I have a device called the xlink that allows your home phones to use your cell line... so if your signal is poor downstairs.. just leave the cell upstairs where the signal is good and use the land line phone downstairs on the cell line. It connects via blue tooth.

Sorry... read it quickly... I guess at work that won't help. Why not just call forwarding?

Unfortunately theres not much you can do... I've never heard of this AirRave device another person mentioned in this thread...

The only real fix for this is a costly one, which is to purchase a BDA.
BiDirection Amplifier. Perhaps you can convince your boss, that its a safety issue, and that you should have one setup so everyone can use their phones in the basement.

The Airwave is an amplifier for cellular signals. Just order one or complain as was mentioned above.

As far as VOIP, Skype should do it but that costs extra.

will that device work through my employee network? I can't imagine the Hospital where i work would allow me to plug that in, not to mention i am sure they have something in place to prevent it from going through the firewall unless its simply over port 80 or something.

Thats a question your gonna have to ask your IT department about.

Who says cell phones aren't allowed in hospitals!

But really... they probably won't put a repeater in a hospital. For the areas that you aren't allowed to use them, you'd be increasing the signal and encouraging use.

Some places even have cell jamming for that purpose...

EDIT: They're illegal in Canada/US :( (cell jammers)
