I think my Diamond is broken.

Hey all, I need some help.
I think my Diamond is broken. I won't vibrate. Even when i turn it on, there's no short vibration anymore. I didn't even do any physical damage to it, I got a text from a friend and it soft reset. Since then, the vibration stopped working. I've tried hard resetting and clearing storage and nothing.

So could i get it replaced or fixed even though I don't have any equipment protection? This isn't my fault cause all i did was receive a text message.

What can I do??

You didn't say how long you've had it ... but, you can always call Sprint customer service and tell them your story. You may just get a sympathetic ear ...

I've had it for about 4 or 5 months. they won't help even if it's a defective product? Or they might not believe me.

i know its happened to several people on here, but i don't know if they found a way to fix it. a high end phone like the diamond without a protection plan?!?! i know if you take it in to a sprint store but they are going charge you to fix it, if they can. your best bet is adding insurance and the protection plan and living with it for a month then taking it in. $5 beats having to shell out $500 for a new diamond

Don't all phones come with a 1 year manufacture's warranty? Pretty sure they do.

Just add insurance to the phone, wait 20-30 days and claim it just stopped working.

can you do that? I think I tried to add insurance to my wife's line a few months after we got her phone and they told me "no"..maybe I need to look into it again.

if you have total protection from sprint. they will fix the vibrate for free. if your phone's little sticker under the cover at the bottom of the phone is red instead of white...they will claim your phone has water damage and will not touch your phone.

you will have to pay 50 to sprint for a replacement.

if i were you i would add insurance...deal with it for 2 months, then have the phone replaced for 50 dollars if you like. otherwise insurance is always a good thing to have just in case you lose your phone.

HTC, in this case UTStarcom will look at your phone at no cost under the 1 year warranty, but will NOT send you a replacement nor pay shipping for you. You shell out the money to have it shipped to them, if they determine it has failed due to misuse or water damage they will not fix the phone for free. this whole process will take a month or so.
