Changing notify Icon fo french users and maybe others
 

Hi everyone,

As written in the post title, I'm French.

I want to change the notify icon of the taskbar, the only left to change. All other icons are very beautiful and coloured and thanks to Htcleener, Crazylilboy, FInixNOver and all who improve our HTC Diamond phones.:thumbleft:

I used the tsowentaskbar and installed it, but the notify icon is not working for (mainly) french users, I still got the ugly white bell... And nearby the others...

So I tried to change it myself, I read somewhere that for french users it is in the notify.dll.040C.mui concerned to change the icon

The problem is I can't copy or extract it from the phone to my PC, I tried with both explorer and Total Commander...

Is someone can help me to do it or can do it one for french users, The icon could be the one of HTCleener or crazylilboy.

j'ai changé le mien par celui-ci:

pas de souci, j'avais vu sur xda mais je n'ai pas eu de problème
pour le png ou la dll->MP

I didn't find the solution to do it, but I know now why I c'ant do it !

You can't change the notify.dll.090C.mui if you have an official HTC rom, the file is in readonly, system, inrom if you ckeck the propreties in TC. So you can't rename it, copy it, delete it ! :-x

The solution would be to ask the system to use the notify.dll.09409.mui instead. I tried to look in the registry but I found nothing.:-(

this is not notify.dll.09409.mui but:notify.dll.0409.mui or notify.dll.040C.mui

Hello,

I've written too fast the name of the Dll but in my first post I wrote it good.

Thanks again to Phildu91 :thumbleft: who helped to have the notify icon, It worked for me. My diamond runs on HTC Official ROM.

What I needed to do to have the good icon is to modify the notify.dll.0409.mui with the good icon and translate it in French with ResHack.
And then rename it notify.dll.040C.mui because in my case this is the one used by the mobile. And in order to use it, I use Resco Explorer (not free software) to copy it in the Windows directory, TC didn't let me do it because it's a Rom and system file. :!:
