Just got a Diamond, but its not like the specs said...
 

I am wondering where the other video camera is on the diamond I just got?
I thought there was 2 cameras on it, this one only has the one on the back of the camera and not on the face of it? Any ideas why Sprint removed that?

Sprint's version doesn't have the other camera because it doesn't support video calling.

ahh simple enough... thanks for the quick answer. I have been fiddling with the phone for the past hour. about to unlock it now. This would be my 2nd pda, the first was a Palm Treo. This phone is awesome though. Just trying to get used to texting on it. I cant seem to get it to let me text sideways when I turn the phone. So I am reading up on how that is supposed to work. lol

the one you were looking at was the GSM (or Euro) version. Your north american version is quite different.


If you want the GSM version, you'll have to buy one unlocked and find a gsm network service provided in your area to hook it up with.

Sorry bout the noob question here... but any idea why when I turn the phone sideways the phone dont switch to the sideways keyboard for me to text?

You need to add an application that will let you do that, one of them I believe is call gyrator or flip it. Just do a search and you'll find it.

Check the settings for the long press end key. I can't be sure, but I believe there is a selection there to rotate the screen. If not, then many of the custom roms offer this as a selection or you can search out a program called "flip-it" which will allow screen rotation through the built-in G sensor. Some of the custom roms offer flip-it already in the rom.

Flip-It uses the G-Sensor inside the phone itself.

Good program, but a tad frustrating for me to use all the time.

The long press end key does roatate the screen, but some of the custom landscape manillas won't function correctly when that happens.
