[Sprint] weird texting problem
I am unable to receive text messages from other companies with those short codes instead of phone numbers. I have called sprint about it and they "said" they fixed it but they didn't is that the only way to get it to work is to keep calling until I get someone who is compitant(sp) enough to actually fix it? Thanks for any help

We need more info to help! Is this a company phone? What is this code you are talking about? Be a little more specific.

Re: [Sprint] weird texting problem
sorry was still somewhat waking up when I wrote that lol
Specifically I am talking about things like when you text a message to a 5 digit number and they text you a code back or somethign like that. Kinda like those stupid comercials on tv for ringtones or backgrounds, not that that is what I am looking for but alot of radio stations and different web sites do that. Example: Zedge.net has a ton of ringers and other stuff well with some you need to put in your number and they send you a code I never recieve the code ever and it's getting annoying lol |
Re: [Sprint] weird texting problem
I have the same issue. I can get TX messages from TSN.ca, but nowhere else online. Say i tell maps.google.com to send me a link via txt to download google maps mobile; I never get that text. I am going to hard reset after i make a backup this morning, and we will see if that makes a difference. I'm wondering if one of the programs has a hidden setting blocking messages from shortcodes.
i can txt 46645 (googl) and get a reply however. I am on Juicy's 3.7.1 right now, with lots of stuff installed. I am on the MTS network in Manitoba. |

Hard reset made no difference. Maybe my provider is blocking them, i will have to give them a call this morning...

Re: [Sprint] weird texting problem
I had the same problem with Sprint. Somewhere along the line I must have complained about receiving charges from unwanted text messages. Apparently, they put a block on "premium" text messages. Unfortunately - that included google, ebay, and many others I actually WANTED to recieve. All I had to do was call sprint and have them unblock all messages (once I found out the problem).
