Easy Bluetooth/Wifi Toggle Apps
 

Since I got my Diamond last week I found it very complicated to Toggle my bluetooth and wifi on/off as I needed to. So I found these programs, and added them to my Start Menu so that I can easily turn BT or WIFI on/off.

I hope other new Diamond/Pro users find these useful. Here are the apps:

lol......thanks, and yeah, I thought I'd switch it up..lol. As far as the app goes, yes, I've been using them for about a week, and it makes turning BT/Wifi on/off a 1 sec task with no conflicts or problems whatsoever. Let me know what you think.

Of course. Anytime.

I think s2u2 looks, and works great but I personally do not use it only because I find it easier/simpler to just use the power button.

I am currently looking for some sort of light sensor app that will shut off the screen when the phone is up to your ear. Do you know of one?

Once I find something I'll be sure to post it as well in case others are interested. Same goes for any other good apps I might stumble upon.

lumos backlight app. is slick for auto adjusting backlight. got that one?

Yes. I found it on www.freewarepocketpc.net. I haven't had enough time to really fiddle with it yet. You?

thanks for the info on the bt and wifi toggle apps... 4yr palm user, just bought a touch pro two days back and toggling these two was driving me nuts!

one small question though.. how do you add the bt toggle app to the start menu? had no problem with the wifi app, but the bt app is an .exe and doesn't show in the programs list... actually even the wifi app doesn't show up in the programs list either. also, the lumos app doesn't work.. gives an error message.

any info on how to get it done would be highly appreciated.. thanks.

you need net3.5 cab. hold on ill get it.

You need to open file explorer and copy the programs to the windows/start menu and then you will be able to select them.

Lumos requires you to update your Microsoft Compact Framework to version 3.5 (the lastest) for it to work. Our Diamonds currently only have version 2.0 from stock.

thx guys.. just got to know abt that.. downloaded and have lumos working now... also got around putting the bt toggle on the start menu as well.

just one small thing though... the touch pro only allows putting 7 items on the start menu, and i recently saw a vid where the user had atleast 15 items on his touch diamond! is that done through an app or a registry hack etc...?

I personally do not know the answer to that one, but Im sure someone else will chime in to help ya. Have you checked in the Touch Pro forum? Perhaps the members there would know.

Good suggestion OMJ. I have attached Quick Menu v2.7 for you to try out. Just unzip, place in phone, and install.

Why not just use Comm Manager?

The whole point is so that you dont have to use your comm manager.

Accessing your comm manager is much more inconvenient especially if your always toggling them on and off due to the Diamond's terrible battery. Placing one of these shortcuts on your start menu, lets you easily, and quickly toggle them on/off.

the action screen .cab has direct links to wifi and BT

The action screen cab is the way to go here. Very convenient and fast.

Thanks guys. Action screen looks OK, but what I was asking was if someone had figured out how to link just to the data connection switch on the Comm Manger, kind of like the BTOnOff does. I used a cab to change the soft switch which I now have set to bring up the Comm manager, but it would be nice just to click data connection on or off.

I would love to have the same thing Lenny and I put in the request with tsousan to add it to his next action screen release. He might but he doesn't use data much. He asked me to send him some information on the data toggle but I can't find anything. If anyone can help point me in the right direction that would be great!
