Keyboard Registry setting

I know how to change the keyboard in the settings but it keeps un-doing and going back to full qwerty. I've searched but I cant seem to find this-

Where can I set my keyboard to show up as the phone keypad so that hopefully it wont go away all the time?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\Sip]
"KeyboadLayout"=dword:00000003

ive changed this setting in the registry setting but it keeps reverting back to 1 which is the default keyboard. Any idea how to make it stop overwritting the 3 for keypad setup?

Re: Keyboard Registry setting

try this... when your sip is open, find the small keyboard icon that is on the bottom bar right in the middle. click on the little arrow that is directly next to that icon- a menu should slide come with SIP options. click on phone keypad and see if it sticks.

Re: Keyboard Registry setting

Just run sipchangefrom Programs and it will present you a list of your avaliable inputs. Just highlight what you want and hit the Select Default button. I'm pretty sure this then runs again every time you boot the phone to over ride and registry settings that revert.

Re: Keyboard Registry setting

Or just go straight to the following registry entry:

<characteristic type="HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip">
<parm name="DefaultIm" datatype="string" value="{BB25F2EB-688C-4698-ADFC-F422A148AD4F}"/>
</characteristic>

That CLSID is for PCM Keyboard. You'd have to enter the CLSID for the HTC Keyboard you want to use. For the Phone Keypad its: "{198D503A-EFFE-4afd-BC54-EED333C80E6D}"

Re: Keyboard Registry setting

The regedit does work but if you mess that up it will require a hard reset. I was changing mine to pcm keyboard and even though I had the right CLSID it still kept my phone from booting past the splash screen. I was due for a hard reset though lol.
