Converting DVDs..
Something I'm playing with for the moment.
Trying to convert a DVD to play on the Diamond. So far WMV has bad video playback. I've used a couple of different programs and settings I've seen. Super with XVID/MP3 and Videora with the ipodv5 settings as seen on XDA. Thing is I have not sound on either. Ideas on settings or what I'm missing / doing wrong to have no sound? |

Re: Converting DVDs..
This is by far the easiest solution....I posted it last week
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=48461 Divx Mobile for the player, free program ImToo DVD Ripper Platinum, free trial or $50 full version there is no reason to use anything else |
Re: Converting DVDs..
Thanks guys. I did see your post here when I did a google search (:
But it's another program to pay for ): I found my sound problem. Originally I followed instructions found through XDA and it said to use DVD Decypter with certain settings. Those settings removed the sound, whoops, sorry.. I'm still working on finding the "right" settings, I used ClonDVD Mobile to convert it using "Generic XVID" at 480x272, Video Quality: 12 and Deinterlaced. Looks pretty good even on the computer full screen with only a little pixilation, sound is good too, BUT.. It needs CorePlayer on the Diamond. I'm sure TCPMP would work as well. My objective is to get the "DVDs" to be recognized in TF and play there. My next test is gonna be "Generic (H264/AC3) AVI" in Clone DVD Mobile but I'm not sure about the AC3 audio(?). That allows the "Quality" to be increased to "18" still deinterlaced. |
Re: Converting DVDs..
Another format to consider, that works with windows media player is .3gp ... it works on 90% of mobile phones and saves you a lot of space, still looks okay too. ImToo DVD ripper will rip DVD's to that format.

Re: Converting DVDs..
Thanks, I'll play with that next. My last try came out to 800mb even though it was estimated over 200mb lower.
MY POS computer is only encoding in real time ): I need a quad-core SOO bad. |
